BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION 

 

Sultana Uddin with Business Administration and Customer Service tutor Graham Walker.This Apprenticeship offers you excellent office-based skills in a broad variety of units to match your employment, giving you the grounding for any type of business role in any type of industry.

 

You will be employed and have regular day release to build your portfolio and access tutor support. Your work will include a range of office activities which will enable you to select units relevant to your role, for example, dealing with visitors and reception duties, use of IT for word processing, managing diary systems and use of telephone systems.

 

A person with good administration skills forms the backbone of any business. If you are well organised and like to work in a structured way, then this may be a good opportunity for you to progress and develop your skills.

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Employers vary with regards to the entry qualifications they require suitable apprentices to have. However, we do not stipulate specific entry requirements. Employers look for signs of commitment and enthusiasm.

 

 

APPRENTICESHIPS

There are many optional units you can select from based on your job role. These include: dealing with visitors, managing customer relations and diary systems, storing & researching information, using a variety of IT and telephone systems and operating office equipment. The tutor will discuss these with you.

 

If needed we will give you training to develop your numeracy and communication skills.

 

 

TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE LEVEL 2

During your apprenticeship, you will also work towards this additional qualification. These tests ensure you have the required knowledge and understanding of the subject you are studying.

 

 

TEXT PROCESSING LEVEL 2

This qualification enhances your work processing skills, providing you with a skill employers say is a real benefit to their business.

 

Upon successful completion of your Apprenticeship your new skills can be used across a wide range of organisations and are transferred easily between different companies. You may wish to progress onto an Advanced Apprenticeship.

 

 

ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIPS

This apprenticeship is suitable if you work at an advanced level in an office environment for example as an Administrator, Co-ordinator, Team leader, Supervisor, Office Manager (our staff will give you guidance on suitable job roles.) You can select units suitable to your work role.

 

 

TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE LEVEL 3

This test gives you the required knowledge and understanding of the subject you are studying.

 

 

PROGRESSION ROUTES

Following completion of your advanced apprenticeship, your skills can be applied across a wide range of organisations. You can take your professional development to the next level, for example: into management, customer service or IT related qualifications. CUSTOMER SERVICE

 

This Apprenticeship provides you with the skills to work in many, varied organisations. You need to be good with people, have good communications skills and be able to resolve problems and meet customers expectations.

 

You will need to have good knowledge of your organisations products and services and the systems used to deliver these to customers. Above all, you need to be someone who gets real satisfaction from a job well done.

 

There is a growing demand for staff who have developed customer service skills. So, if you want face to face contact with customers, are happy working in an office and enjoy talking to customers over the phone, this apprenticeship may be suitable for you.

 

 

APPRENTICESHIPS

There are many optional units you can select depending on your job role. For example: processing information for customers, using various methods of written and verbal communication, supporting improvements and living up to the customer service promise, to name but a few.

 

If needed we will give you training to develop your numeracy and communication skills.

 

 

TECHNICAL CERTIFICATE

This tests you have the required knowledge and understanding which is needed for a role in customer service.

 

You will also develop an understanding of Employment Rights & Responsibilities.

 

 

ADVANCED APPRENTICESHIPS

Good customer service is delivered by individuals who have self-assurance and self-esteem; people who reflect on what they do and can see the "bigger picture" in the way they multi-task to meet customer service needs. Good customer service is delivered by people who have developed high levels of personal effectiveness.

 

You will show your understanding of customer service and improved delivery and how to go the extra mile in helping the customer, processing complaints and analysing feedback. You will develop your customer service skills and lead a team to improve services. There are many more optional units you can choose from.

 

 

PROGRESSION ROUTES

On completion, your skills can be applied across a wide range of organisations. You can take your professional development to the next level, for example, NVQ level 4 in customer service or a management qualification.
