Durham based company Dramatrain has just returned from Samara in Russia where they have been working with a group of Russian actors, helping to develop their skills for training local oil workers to take safety more seriously.
Dramatrain directors Diggy Wilson and Chas Thomason have been using drama in corporate training for over 15 years and have worked with international clients in countries as far afield as the USA, Azerbaijan, Trinidad and Vietnam. Diggy Wilson says:
“We have extensive experience of offering safety training to workers all over the world, but this is the first time in Russia and the first time we have worked through interpreters and in the local language. It was a challenge, but we managed to make a real impact."
Dramatrain has a specialised approach to training, which is designed to engage the participants by drawing directly on their experiences and by allowing them to contribute to and to influence workplace best practice. Their interactive drama based training can be applied to any situation where there is a need for people to communicate effectively.
